With impressive goal scoring performances in recent weeks by the likes of Quebec-born midfielder Patrice Bernier and Designated Player Marco Di Vaio, supporters have been treated to a five game winning streak and six victories in a row at the friendly confines of Stade Saputo.
However, the Impact has had a number of different heroes over that stretch and all season long.
Ten different players have come up big when it counted for the Impact this season, scoring that all important game-winning goal. What that means in a season of 12 wins is that in 84 % of the team’s victories, a new hero stepped up to the plate.

Defender Hassoun Camara, midfielders Felipe, Patrice Bernier, Justin Mapp, Lamar Neagle and Davy Arnaud, along with forwards Marco Di Vaio and Bernardo Corradi each have one in 2012.
The only two players to have scored a brace of game winners are midfielder Sanna Nyassi and forward Andrew Wenger, which shows the depth that the Impact has been taking advantage of down the stretch.
Interestingly, it seems that Wenger, the product of Duke University, has a knack for scoring the big goal as half of his four markers on the year have been game winners in extremely limited minutes (537 to be exact). He leads the team in goals per 90 minute ration with a 0.67, a whole 10 percentage points higher than his closest rival.
With the Montreal Impact the fourth highest scoring team in the league, it seems that scoring by committee has been the key to the team’s offensive success as there are no members of the blue and white in the top 10 in league scoring (although Bernier is not too far out with his nine goals on the year).
