Between the greatest player in Chilean history, CF Montréal’s newest offensive weapon, and Inter Miami CF’s captain, their history is loaded with memorable moments.
Born just one year apart, Lionel Messi (June 24, 1987) and Alexis Sánchez (Dec. 19, 1988) have left their mark on an entire generation of soccer fans thanks to their exceptional talent, their consistency at the highest level and their impressive track records.
They crossed paths at FC Barcelona, where the two shared the same locker room for three seasons between 2011 and 2014. The chemistry between them on the field was evident, resulting in more than 25 offensive plays that directly led to a goal by either the Chilean or the Argentine. Together, they contributed to the Catalan club’s successes, developing over the years a strong on-field relationship and a deep mutual respect off the field.

Unbeaten in four games, CF Montréal travel south with a winning mentality and the ambition to climb the Eastern Conference standings and secure a spot in the MLS Cup Playoffs.
