RESERVE LEAGUE: Montreal Impact – Toronto FC

MONTREAL, Quebec – Despite a break in regular season action, the Montreal Impact returns to the pitch on Saturday to play Toronto FC in an MLS Reserve League match at the Claude-Robillard Sports Complex, at 11am ET.
The game is open to the public and admittance is free of charge. Please keep in mind that in case of rain, there are a number of dry seats available under the roof.
The Montreal Impact (2-1-0) will be facing TFC (1-2-0) for the second time this season in the Reserve League. In the first matchup, the Impact shut out its Canadian rivals by a score of 1-0 at Downsview Park in Toronto, on April 11.
The club won its first match of the season, 2-1 versus the Columbus Crew at Crew stadium, before losing 3-1 to the New York Red Bulls on April 1.
“Training sessions let you work on the little details, but it’s always good to get a couple of games to put some things to the test,” said Impact assistant coach Mike Sorber. “Getting some players a good solid 90 minutes will help us evaluate them and gives those players a good feeling to step on the field and play in a game. This is a good opportunity to get some injured players back in the line-up.”
Defenders Zarek Valentin and Josh Gardner, as well as forward Justin Braun, should see some playing time as they are set to make their return from injury. Impact U21 captain Karl W. Ouimette is also expected to be amongst the players dressed for the matchup.
Midfielder/forward Miguel Montaño leads the team in Reserve League play with two goals.
Canadian forward Carl Haworth, drafted by the Impact in the 2012 Supplementary Draft, rejoins the team on trial, and could see action in the two upcoming Reserve League games.
Toronto FC registered its first win in regular season play, last Saturday, 1-0 against the Philadelphia Union, after losing nine straight games. The team also won its Reserve League game versus Philadelphia, that same day, by a score of 3-2.

The Impact returns to the pitch in Reserve League action at the Claude-Robillard Sports Complex on Tuesday versus the New England Revolution. The game is set for 10am and is also open to the public. Admittance is free of charge.

Reserve League Info
In 2012, each club plays a total of 10 Reserve League games versus each of its divisional opponents. All players appearing on an MLS Club’s Official Roster may represent their team in MLS Reserve League play. However, no Player shall play more than 120 minutes in a Reserve Team Match and any preceding match that occurs within a 60-hour period. Further, no player shall play more than a combined total of 90 minutes in a Reserve Team Match and any preceding match that occurred within 36 hours prior to such Reserve Team Match.
