MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact (13-10-7) looks to take a stranglehold on a potential playoff berth on Saturday afternoon at Stade Saputo as it hosts the New England Revolution (11-11-9) at 2:30pm ET. The game will be broadcast live on TV by RDS and TSN and on radio with CJAD 800. You can also get live updates using the Impact mobile app or by following @impactmontreal on twitter.
A total of five points separate the fourth through eighth place teams in the Eastern Conference, with Montreal (46 pts), Philadelphia (45 pts), Chicago (43 pts), New England (42 pts) and Columbus (41 pts) all in striking distance of the final two playoff spots.
A win for the Impact would guarantee that the Revs and the Crew could not mathematically overtake them in the standings. In addition, if the Fire were to lose Saturday in Dallas, the Impact would hold the tiebreakers as it currently stands.
Excellent tickets are still available for Saturday’s game. All supporters who have a ticket for this game will be given 50% off the purchase price of tickets for the Impact’s first playoff game, upon qualification.

As part of a campaign to fight breast cancer, organized across the league through MLS W.O.R.K.S., the Montreal Impact will collect donations for the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation. It will be possible to make a donation in donation boxes located throughout the stadium. During the match, Impact goalkeeper Troy Perkins will be wearing a pink jersey. In addition, the nets, corner flags and the ball will also be pink.
Head-to-head
This is the second and final matchup between these two teams in regular-season play.
The Impact’s last win came against that same Revolution on September 8, a 4-2 win in Boston in which goalkeeper Matt Reis was ejected early on in the game. Patrice Bernier scored twice, both on penalty shots, while Di Vaio’s brace helped him reach the league lead. With 19 goals scored, he is just one shy of becoming only the 11th play in MLS history to hit the 20-goal plateau.
The Impact and New England Revolution faced each other two times in Montreal in 2012. The Impact won 2-1 on July 18 and the Revolution beat the Impact 1-0 on October 27.
