MONTREAL – CF Montréal’s Lassi Lappalainen was selected by the Finland national team on Wednesday to take part in Euro 2020, which will take place from June 11 to July 11, 2021.
The competition was scheduled for 2020 but was postponed until 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Finland is in Group B with Belgium, Denmark and Russia.
The Finnish forward is on loan with CF Montréal from Italian club Bologna FC 1909 until December 31, 2021. So far this season, he has an assist in four games, two of which he started. Since 2019, he has appeared in a total of 28 games, including 17 starts, with the Club in MLS, registering nine goals and three assists.
Lappalainen made his debut with the senior national team on January 11, 2019 in a friendly game against Estonia, and has earned seven caps with Finland.
