Amongst other celebrations to celebrate his career, the young mascots who accompany players as they enter the pitch will wear a t-shirt with Bernier’s #8.
The club also invites supporters to remain in their seats after the game to laud the captain one last time, during the lap of honour.
For the yearly Supporters’ Day, a KIA hat will be offered to the first 7,000 people to enter the stadium and the poster of the 2017 team picture will be given after the game at the exits (following the final whistle).
The Impact encourages its supporters to use the hashtag #8ERNIER to congratulate him on his career on social media. Until October 22, the club will publish on its social media accounts a countdown with pictures from Bernier’s career.
