The first professional sport in Canada to resume activities in front of supporters

MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact announced on Thursday that it will continue its MLS season on Tuesday, August 25, in front of supporters at Stade Saputo. Due to regulations from the Quebec public health authorities, the maximum number of spectators cannot exceed 250 people.

“We are very happy to welcome fans for the resumption of the season at Stade Saputo. We can’t wait to see supporters at the stadium,” declared the president and CEO of the Montreal Impact, Kevin Gilmore. “We would have liked to return to the stadium with full capacity, but the persisting situation has dictated otherwise. Taking that into consideration while also consulting public authorities, we have made a commitment to being one of the safest forms of entertainment in Montreal, because we want our supporters to feel comfortable being here.”

Exclusive presale for Members

All club Members will be able to take advantage of an exclusive presale as of Thursday at noon until Saturday, August 22, at 10pm, to purchase seats (maximum of four seats together for people living at the same address), in sections 121 to 125 in the South stand, starting at $49 (plus tax). Season ticket holders can proceed by using the Yoop allotment system, setting the price they are willing to spend. The system will then determine the chances of getting access to Stade Saputo at that price and will inform the user. Members who gain access to a Yoop pass for the game will be advised, and their seats will then be assigned. The general public can then gain access if capacity isn’t filled, as of Saturday at 8pm until Monday at noon.

Exceptional sanitary measures

All sanitary measures recommended by public health officials will be enforced at Stade Saputo, whether the 2 metres of social distancing for those that aren’t living in the same household, wearing a mask or face-covering for those aged 10 years or higher, protective panels on food concession stands, strict sanitary measures applied at every point of contact with supporters, the disinfection of surfaces done daily following the highest standards of hygiene, hand washing or sanitizing stations installed at each entrance and other multiple areas around the stadium, no cash transactions accepted, temperature control upon arrival at the stadium, contactless scanning of Yoop passes and accepting the terms and conditions linked to Covid-19 at the moment of purchase. Live broadcast at the Drive-In Theatre

Other than a seat at Stade Saputo, you can live the atmosphere of our upcoming games at the Royalmount Drive-In Theatre to watch one of our three games against Toronto FC (August 28, September 1 and September 9) at the cost of $65 (plus taxes) per vehicle. On top of having access to the biggest outdoor screen in Montreal, there will also be special guests, prizes and foodtrucks.

The Impact announced on August 13 that it will resume its season by playing six games against its two Canadian rivals, in the first phase of a revised 2020 MLS schedule. The Impact will take on the Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Tuesday, August 25, at 8pm at Stade Saputo. Toronto FC will then visit Montreal on Friday, August 28, at 8pm. The two teams will face off again a few days later at BMO Field, on Tuesday, September 1, at 8pm, and then again at Stade Saputo on Wednesday, September 9, at 8pm. Finally, the Impact will head to Vancouver to play two games on the West Coast, on Sunday, September 13 and Wednesday, September 16, at 9:30pm EDT.

As during the MLS is Back tournament, Covid-19 screening protocols will once again play an important role in the competition format established by MLS. The MLS continues to work closely with the league’s infectious disease specialists as well as with members of the MLS Players Association to continue planning screening procedures.
