Four CF Montréal Academy players called up by Canada's U17 team 

MONTREAL – CF Montréal Academy players Alessandro Biello, Gaël De Montigny, Étienne Godin and Antoine Sedar N’Diaye have been called up by the Canadian U17 team ahead of an upcoming youth national team camp taking place between December 10 and 20 in Mexico City.

The Canadian team will play two matches on December 15 and 19, against Costa Rica and Mexico respectively, in the Copa México de Naciones U17, a three-nation international competition.

The objective is to prepare for the upcoming Concacaf U17 Championship, from 11 to 26 February in Guatemala. Canada has been drawn into Group F alongside Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, and the USA. The top three nations from the group advance to the Round of 16. From the knockout phase, the top four nations will qualify for the FIFA U-17 Word Cup Peru 2023.

The four players currently play with CF Montréal’s U17 squad in the MLS NEXT championship.

Alessandro Biello and Antoine Sedar N’Diaye, both 16-year-old midfielders, joined the organization through the CF Montréal Pre-Academy respectively in 2014 and 2016. Gaël De Montigny, a 16-year-old defender, joined the CF Montréal Pre-Academy in 2016. Étienne Godin, also a 16-year-old defender, joined the Academy in 2020 from CS Mont-Royal Outremont.
