MONTREAL – Midfielder Djordje Mihailovic has been called up by the United States U23 national team for its next camp, starting on January 9 in Bradenton, Florida.
Head coach Jason Kreis’ team will reunite for the first time since the Concacaf Olympic qualifiers were postponed 10 months ago and will prepare for the resumption of the competition in March.
Mihailovic will be the most experienced player in the squad, with five U23 caps, having worn the captain's armband in the team's last three international games.
He is also one of eight American U23 players to have been called up to the senior national team.
Last December, no less than six Montreal players were selected by Canada to take part in the January training camp in Bradenton: James Pantemis (GK), Kamal Miller (CB), Joel Waterman (CB), Zorhan Bassong (LB/RB), Zachary Brault-Guillard (RB) and Samuel Piette (M).
