MONTREAL - CF Montreal announced, on Friday, that forward Sunusi Ibrahim has signed a contract extension through 2026. The agreement also includes an option year for the 2027 season.

"It was important to keep Sunusi with us for several more years," said CF Montréal Vice President and Chief Sporting Officer Olivier Renard. "We were his first club when he left Africa at only 18, but he is still very young today at 21, and we can see that he has potential. After three seasons in Montreal, he has learned a lot. He has managed to show us his qualities and it is now up to us to make sure he continues to improve and becomes even more consistent in the future so that he can help us achieve the Club's objectives."

The 21-year-old forward scored three goals and three assists in MLS this season. He amassed 1,174 minutes played over 25 matches this season, including 11 starts. In Canadian Championship play, Ibrahim added three goals and one assist.

Ibrahim joined CF Montréal on January 12, 2021. The native of Keffi, Nigeria, has scored 13 goals and provided five assists over the past three seasons in all competitions. He also helped the Club win the Canadian Championship in 2021.

Transaction: Sunusi Ibrahim signs a new contract for the 2024, 2025 and 2026 seasons, plus an option year for 2027.
