CF Montréal to host first-ever Women in Sport panel on Wednesday

MONTREAL – CF Montréal announced on Monday the Club will host its first-ever Women in Sport panel this Wednesday at 3:40pm on the Stella Artois Terrace at Stade Saputo, ahead of the Club’s match against the New York Red Bulls at 7:30pm.

Presented by Alessandro Berselli Vini d'Italia, the event will bring together all the Club's corporate partners and premium Members, as well as several special guests, professional athletes, and decision makers from across the industry to openly discuss topics such as gender equality in sport, media coverage and pay equity.

As an ambassador for professional sport in the province, CF Montréal firmly believes in its mission to advance the conversation on parity in sport and to mobilize the public to action around the cause.

By organizing such events, the Club strives to raise awareness among various stakeholders and persons of influence to shed light on fundamental issues like gender equality that directly affect the Montreal, Quebec, and Canadian sports communities at large.

Two bilingual panels with distinct themes will be organized for participants, composed of the following speakers:

PANEL 1

Isabelle Charest, Olympic medallist and politician

Chantal Machabée, Vice-President of Communications (Montreal Canadiens)

Annie Larouche, Vice-President of Operations (Montreal Alliance)

Samia Chebeir, Vice-President and Chief Marketing Officer (CF Montréal)

PANEL 2

Nathalie Lambert, Olympic medallist and President of the International Skating Union Short Track Technical Committee

Aurélie Rivard, Swimmer and member of the Canadian Paralympic Team

Amy Walsh, Analyst at TSN 690 and member of the Canada Soccer Hall of Fame

Marie-Ève Dicaire, Professional Boxer

In line with this goal, the Club will also be organizing its first-ever Women’s All-Star Game, in collaboration with Soccer Québec. Presented by BMO, the match will be held at Stade Saputo this Sunday, September 4, at 3:30pm.
