MONTREAL – CF Montréal will conclude a three-game homestand against D.C. United on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. EDT at Stade Saputo (Apple TV, RDS, TSN, TSN 690).
For the occasion, the Club will host a retro-themed match inspired by the 90's. The players will wear the Archives Collection jersey for the first time in an atmosphere inspired by the historic 1993 visual identity.
The Bleu-blanc-noir will face D.C. United again after a thrilling 4-4 draw on May 23 in Washington. In that match, Prince Owusu recorded the first hat trick of his MLS career, becoming the latest CF Montréal player to score three goals in a single game.
Last Tuesday, CF Montréal acquired forward Alexis Sánchez as a Designated Player. The two-time Copa América champion and all-time leading scorer for the Chilean national team will be introduced to supporters on the field at halftime of the match.
Montréal holds an all-time record of 10-10-12 against D.C. United (38 goals scored, 43 conceded), as well as a home record of 7-4-5 (21 goals scored, 16 conceded). D.C. United will arrive in Montréal after collecting four points from its last two MLS matches, thanks to a 2-1 victory over Toronto FC and a 2-2 draw against Nashville SC.
Meanwhile, Victor Loturi set a new Club record by appearing in his 52nd consecutive MLS regular-season match for Montréal during the 2-2 draw against the New England Revolution on August 1, surpassing Samuel Piette’s previous mark. Defender Brayan Ceballos could make his first start for the Bleu-blanc-noir after joining the team in a trade with the New England Revolution on July 24.
Before kickoff, fans are invited to head to the SiriusXM Stage, located near Section 125, where Quebec-based band Valaire will perform starting at 6:30 p.m.
