MONTREAL – CF Montréal announced on Saturday the acquisition of Quebec-born striker Jules-Anthony Vilsaint via an international transfer from Belgian first division club Royal Antwerp FC. Vilsaint signed a two-year contract for 2023 and 2024 with two option years in 2025 and 2026.
“Jules-Anthony is a promising forward from Quebec. He has interesting physical attributes in addition to good pace, despite his height,” said Vice-President and Chief Sporting Officer Olivier Renard “We will help further his development and continue his progress with us. We welcome him to his hometown club.”
Born in Montreal, the 20-year-old holds dual Canadian and Haitian citizenship. He notably played for Panellinios Montreal FC before heading to Europe in 2020, where he joined the Young Reds, Royal Antwerp FC’s reserve team, in March 2021.
This season with the Young Reds, he scored one goal in 10 matches, including four starts, and 384 minutes of play.
On the international stage, Vilsaint is part of the Canadian U20 national team program. On April 5, he was invited to the Canadian U20 camp in Costa Rica but did not participate. He was also named to the provisional squad for the 2022 Concacaf Men's U20 Championship.
