MONTREAL - The Montreal Impact announced on Tuesday that left back Ambroise Oyongo had successful surgery to repair a patellar tendon rupture in his right knee in Barcelona, Spain, after consultation with the surgeon earlier in the day.
Oyongo suffered the injury on June 10 in Yaoundé, Cameroon, during the first half of a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game against Morocco.
He is expected to be out approximately six months.
