It’s that time of the year again! After months of scouting and deliberation, CF Montréal is set to make their selections in the 2024 MLS Superdraft presented by adidas.
The Club will look to call upon the potential next Bleu-blanc-noir players out of the best talent from the American college soccer system in what will be the 25th Superdraft in MLS history.

Where can you watch the 2024 MLS Superdraft
The 2024 MLS Superdraft will be held virtually across the 29 markets involved in the upcoming season. CF Montréal will be making their picks from Stade Saputo and fans will have an exclusive look-in of the Club’s selections during the league’s broadcast.
Fans will be able to watch the 2024 MLS Superdraft live on MLS Season Pass on December 19 starting at 3 p.m. ET.
What picks does CF Montréal hold?
CF Montréal currently holds the 10th pick of the first round, the 39th pick in the second round as well as the 68th and 86th picks in the third round.
How is the order of the draft determined?
The order of selection for the MLS SuperDraft is determined by taking the reverse order of club standings at the end of each season, taking into account playoff performances. The order of the top ten picks is as follows:
1) Toronto FC
2) Colorado Rapids
3) Inter Miami CF
4) Colorado Rapids*
5) Austin FC
6) Chicago Fire FC
7) D.C. United
8) NYCFC
9) Minnesota United FC
10) CF Montréal
Like the draft processes of many other major sports leagues in North America, expansion clubs will be given the first picks. However, in 2024, no new expansion teams will be joining MLS.
Clubs that did not make the playoffs receive the next picks in reverse order of their previous season's standings.
Teams that made the playoffs are then ranked according to the round in which they were eliminated.
Finally, the Columbus Crew, 2023 MLS Cup champions, receive the last selection and the finalists (Los Angeles FC) the penultimate selection.
Who is eligible for the 2024 MLS Superdraft?
Starting in 2024, MLS has expanded the player pool for the Superdraft. For the first time in league history, the list of eligible draftees will be greater than ever and include players who are currently collegiate sophomores, juniors and above.
Previously, only players in their senior year or above were allowed to enter the Superdraft, along with select Generation adidas signings.
Freshmen and above will still be able to sign Generation Adidas contracts, allowing them to forego college early and join MLS.
Finally, any pre-signed college seniors or international players round up the Superdraft pool.
