Urruti climbs up the standings
The Impact’s last game against Orlando City SC officially marked the halfway point of the 2019 season for the Montreal squad. After 17 games played in a little over three months, one more game remains on the schedule, this Wednesday, at Stade Saputo, against the Seattle Sounders FC (TICKETS – TVA Sports, TSN, 98.5, TSN 690), before the Impact can take advantage of a three-week break.
In the Videotron Man of the Match standings, not much has changed in a month. New additions to the table include Bacary Sagna and Omar Browne, who both burst onto the table with one Man of the Match nomination each during the month of May.
Samuel Piette, on his end, is still in first, and is even building somewhat of a commanding lead. The Canadian international continues to climb after a solid month, although goalkeeper Evan Bush, always looking upwards, is eight points behind. Both players also earned one Man of the Match nomination apiece in this third month of play.
A special shout out goes out to Maxi Urruti, the Argentine striker who jumped to third overall in just a month’s time, a month during which he scored his first goal with his new club.
For those who need reminding, every game (almost), the Montreal Impact asks you, the supporters, to pick your Videotron Man of the Match through our mobile app. It’s always a choice between three Impact players who are having a good game, and the winner is announced once the game is over.
For our standings, the winner of the Videotron Man of the Match earns five points, whoever finishes second gets two points, and the player who finishes third gets one point.
