With D.C. United in town, the Impact will be playing its final game on Wednesday night at Stade Saputo before a short break for the FIFA World Cup, with no shortage of drama on the table for this one.
1. The big ‘Mo’
The Impact is currently on a role, having earned a result in its last three straight games, including two consecutive victories, good for a record of 3-1-2 in its last six games across all competitions. To add to the teams current success are two straight shutouts, a 2-0 victory over the New England Revolution and a 1-0 win over Toronto FC, in what was the Canadian title clinching matchup last Wednesday.
2. Davy's back!
Now a prominent member of D.C. United, the Impact’s former and first ever captain in MLS Davy Arnaud comes back to the city that he called home for two seasons as the bleu-blanc-noir’s on-field leader in its first two seasons in North America’s top flight.
3. New faces
Reinforcements on the back line are on the way. Recent acquisitions Futty Danso and Mechack Jérôme will be available, having recently played in the team’s reserve league matchup on Saturday, while the injured Matteo Ferrari and Adrian Lopez both saw minutes alongside their new teammates against Orlando City as well.
