Opta, the world’s leading supplier in detailed sports data, has chosen Impact midfielder Saphir Taïder in its MLS best XI from the 2018 season based on their data.
Taïder excelled in his first MLS season, scoring seven goals and adding eight assists while being a force defensively. He is one of only two players in MLS who has a passing accuracy of over 80% in the final third, while also managing over 200 recoveries.
The Algerian international started 33 games for the Bleu-blanc-noir this year and set a club record by taking at least a shot in 23 consecutive games, for a total of 65 shots during this period.
