Looking to extend our unbeaten streak to eight games
CF Montréal hosts its Floridian rival, Orlando City SC, this Saturday at 4pm at Stade Saputo, with Wilfried Nancy’s men looking to continue their climb up the Eastern Conference standings.
Mother’s Day festivities will be in full force as well, with four tickets available for the price of three to celebrate mom. You can still purchase tickets for the game here.
CF Montréal is one of the most in-form teams across the league at the moment. With their win against Atlanta United last Saturday, their second in a row, the Club is now unbeaten in its last seven games across all competitions, including the last six in MLS.
Montreal is now on the verge of establishing a Club record of seven consecutive games without defeat in MLS, if they manage a draw or a win against Orlando City SC.
“The idea is to add a chapter to the Club’s history. Now that the players have a chance to do it, they won’t hold themselves back,” said head coach Wilfried Nancy. Again, everything happens on the field, but this is extra motivation. It’s always nice to write a page of the Club’s history.”
It’s already a second meeting between these two sides this year, with head coach Oscar Pareja’s men taking the first game 2-0 at Exploria Stadium. Orlando has won three of its last MLS games, including a 2-1 win against Charlotte last weekend.
They currently sit in third in the Eastern Conference, one spot and three points ahead of CF Montréal, although they have played an extra game.
“We faced them in the beginning of the year, and we ended up playing a pretty interesting game,” said Nancy. “At the end, the game was lost in the few minutes we lost control of play. The idea is to continue doing what we do best. We want to beat Orlando and first of all, play well while doing it, to have a chance of taking this game.”
Foodtrucks are back at the stadium this year! This Saturday, come and enjoy food from D. Burger, Queues de Castor and Gaspésie Le Spot. A special Litchi cocktail will be available as well to celebrate Mother’s Day!
Montreal will be back on the road next weekend to take on Charlotte FC for the first time in our history on Saturday, May 14, at 7pm, followed by a mid-week game in Nashville on May 18 at 8:30pm. Our next home game will be on May 22 at 4pm at Stade Saputo, when we will host Real Salt Lake. Tickets for that game are available here.
