A special section dedicated to the club’s 25th anniversary
A quarter-century has passed since the first edition of the Montreal Impact played its first game in 1993. Lots can happen in 25 years: countless players and coaches have come and gone, championships have been won, and milestones were reached.
To honour our silver jubilee, we delved into our history and created a new section on impactmontreal.com dedicated to the club’s 25 years of existence, with detailed information on every single season, player, coach, with photos, videos, and many statistics.
In the History section, we take you through every season since the club was founded. The site’s new section also underlines the club’s 25Greatest Moments, ranging from when the club was first founded in 1992, to the Eastern Conference final against Toronto FC in 2016, including video extracts from our archives, which can also be found in the historic pathway under the bleachers at Stade Saputo.
Every player that has worn the Impact’s colours in the first and second divisions can be found on the Players page, including individual statistics, milestones, and of course, pictures.
The Bleu-blanc-noir’s Coaches are also featured, from Eddie Firmani, who was the first head coach of the Montreal Impact in its inaugural season, to current head coach Rémi Garde. You’ll find details on each coach’s tenure in Montreal, their overall records, and what each and every one of them contributed to the club’s history.
Created in 2018, precisely for the club’s 25th, the Wall of Fame, a permanent space on which will be engraved the names of players who have left their mark on the club’s history, will also be featured online. Defenders Gabriel Gervais and Nevio Pizzolitto were the first to be inducted earlier this year.
Finally, you can also find the Honours and Records section, which details the different league honours the Bleu-blanc-noir’s players have won since 1993, as well as the team honours given out by the club year after year. You can also find individual and collective records, some broken recently, while others have stood the test of time.
