MONTREAL - This Friday, the Montreal Impact and 50 volunteers from Deloitte’s Montreal offices will join forces to assist their community with Special Olympics Québec (SOQ).
During the day, about 50 students from Monseigneur-A.M.-Parent High School in Saint-Hubert will have the chance to play soccer at Stade Saputo. Athletes from the Special Olympics movement will be integrated within Deloitte teams to make the experience even more rewarding. Some educators from the Impact Soccer Schools will also be on site to oversee this mini-tournament.
This is the fourth year that Deloitte collaborates with Special Olympics Quebec.
"The generosity of Deloitte employees allows us to organize a unique and memorable experience for these students,” argues James Lapierre, Director of Sports Programs and Community Development at Special Olympics Québec. “This day will allow them to demonstrate their athletic ability and awareness of what they are capable of.”
The Journée Impact is an annual volunteering activity organized by Deloitte, in its 11th year now. This annual event symbolizes Deloitte’s continuous commitment to volunteering, as well as its determination to contribute to the betterment of the community and to helping others. This day is an opportunity for Deloitte employees to put their passion, determination and skills in service of the community. So far, over 48,000 Deloitte employees have participated in 4,000 projects as part of Journée Impact, supporting more than 2,000 organizations and devoting more than 350,000 hours.
