Ignacio Piatti remains in the supporters’ hearts.
The Argentinean will miss a couple of weeks of action through injury, but he can find some comfort in yet another individual award: Player of the Month of May. With 61% of the votes, Piatti wins his first such mention, after Laurent Ciman picked up the award in March and April. In four appearances in May, Piatti scored four goals and added an assist; only David Villa has scored more goals than him in MLS this season.
Lucas Ontivero, for his part, succeeds Piatti as Goal of the Month winner. Ontivero grabbed 68% of the members’ support with his very first goal in MLS, which started with fine technical skills in the penalty area and ended with a formidable strike into the top corner of the net against LA Galaxy.
