With Nick De Santis being relieved of his duties as sporting director, Impact Designated Player Marco Di Vaio wanted to address the situation with which the club now finds itself.
“Nick is not the only one responsible for our position,” explained the 2013 MLS All-Star. “We the players are the ones that go out on the field, so we have to share the responsibility.”
With that in mind, the Italian bomber wanted Impact fans to remember what De Santis has meant to the team over its history.
“I am here today because of Nick, all the passion he showed for the club when he came to meet me in Bologna helped convince me to come here. He has been a big part of this organization for over 20 years.”
