Eliminated in the knockout round, the Impact’s eSports player looking ahead
That’s the thing with knockout games; the margin for error is slim, very slim. That was the case Saturday afternoon in Boston.
After a strong performance on Friday to finish the regular season ranked fourth in the Eastern Conference, things were a little more difficult on Saturday. Against FIFA Abe from Orlando City SC, in the knockout round of the eMLS Cup playoffs, I started slow, letting him score the first goal off a counter.
Things remained difficult even though I managed to score. He used the counter-attack twice more with great success, finishing both times to take a two-goal lead before half-time. It was already too late to stage a comeback, even though I did what I could to attack. When it was all said and done, Abe won 3-1.
It’s on this disappointing game that my eMLS season comes to an end, although there’s still plenty of FIFA 19 to be played.
