Alix Largerie, our eSports player presented by BMO, more commonly referred to by his username Loux11, kicked off the season in style during the qualifying games, with a record of seven wins, three losses and three draws. He currently sits in fifth as the group stage approaches tomorrow.

“I feel good after two qualifying games,” said Loux11. The pressure of kicking things off has worn off and I’m just happy to represent Montreal for a second consecutive year in eMLS.”

Loux11 was among the strongest players during qualifying but missed an opportunity to qualify directly into the Sunday’s knockout tournament by just one ranking and two points.

“I wouldn’t say I’m satisfied,” added Loux11. “Even if I finished in fifth, I missed the top 4 by two points, and I lost or tied games that I should’ve won. I feel like I could’ve done better, but these are lessons that will make me stronger in future competitions.”

Originally from Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, our eSports players is now at his second year in eMLS as a CF Montréal representative. He comes in this year with a desire to prove that he’s among the best in North America on FIFA 23.

“Even if I make similar mistakes to what I did last year, I’m coming into eMLS this year with a lot more confidence, but especially less pressure. In 2022, I felt pressure to perform well and it unfortunately took a toll on my game. But this year, I feel ready to give it my all.”

The eMLS, on its end, is officially at its sixth season, which will conclude as always with the eMLS Cup, to be held this year in Austin during SXSW 2023.26 MLS teams are part of the competition this year, including nine new recruits and four former champions.

“The level of the players this year is incredible. It’s progressed a lot since the eMLS first started. Now, some players come from Europe to take part in this competition. But it’s cool, because to be the best, you have to beat the best.”
