Djordje Mihailovic also named on the bench
CF Montréal managed an electric 2-1 win on the weekend over Atlanta United at Stade Saputo, with Joaquin Torres scoring the game-winner late in the second half to extend Montreal’s unbeaten streak to seven games in all competitions.
It was an excellent team performance against an offensively gifted Atlanta side, but it was defender Kamal Miller who stole the show.
The Canadian international opened the scoring in the fourth minute with his second goal for CF Montréal since joining last season, getting on the end of a perfect cross from Djordje Mihailovic to tuck it behind the keeper.
Miller then deked two opposing players near the 18-yard-box before providing a perfect pass to Joaquin Torres, who headed it past the goalkeeper to give Montreal the win.
Wilfried Nancy’s men will be going now for a Club record seven consecutive games without suffering a loss in MLS, when they host Orland City SC on Saturday, May 7, at Stade Saputo. Tickets available here.
