The Montreal Impact invited the media on Friday to visit the brand new and improved Stade Saputo, which will be officially open its doors on June 16 when the team will play its first game there against the Seattle Sounders FC.
“First of all, I’m happy to confirm that we will, as expected, play our first game at Stade Saputo on June 16,” said Montreal Impact president Joey Saputo to the media. “I’m happy with the final result and I think that it is one of the best stadiums in MLS. I am convinced that you will like the new look and that you will be excited to watch our games here.”
Montreal Impact and Stade Saputo Executive VP Richard Legendre lead the way as the media went through an organized tour.
“We’ve expanded the stadium, but have created a more intimate environment,” said Richard Legendre. “The atmosphere and acoustics will be exceptional.”
New 12-game season ticket packages for all matches at Stade Saputo are available via impactmontreal.com, or by calling 514-328-3668.
