MLS, adidas, and Parley for the Oceans join forces
The Montreal Impact will wear a novelty jersey on Saturday for its first game this year at Stade Saputo. To highlight Earth Day, the Bleu-blanc-noir will wear a jersey made of recycled plastic waste recovered from beaches and coastal communities.
The white jersey with black features will bear the inscription For the Oceans on the inside of the neckline to commemorate this initiative in conjunction with the MLS’ Greener Goals Week. Plastic waste is transformed into high quality technical fibres that can be used for shirts and jerseys, like in this case, or for shoes.
Every MLS team in action on Earth Day weekend will wear one of two variations of this special jersey. The Impact’s is available in limited quantity on the MLS’ online boutique.
Los Angeles FC, Saturday’s visitor, will be in dark grey. Excellent tickets for that game are still available here.
