Impact U19 sitting on three consecutive wins
It’s a return to action for the Impact Academy teams in USSDA and this time, they’re hitting the road for their third away game of the season, against the teams of Baltimore Armour on Saturday, and Bethesda SC on Sunday. Against Baltimore, the Impact U15 will play at 11am, the U17s at 1pm, while the U19 group will close out the day at 3pm.
All games will be played at Covenant Park, in Ellicott City, Maryland.
Against Bethesda SC, the U15s and the U17s will play at noon, while the U19s will play at 2pm, at Maryland SoccerPlex, in Boyds.
Impact U15 faces tough test
The Impact U15, led by head coach Nicolas Gagnon, will definitely be put to the test this weekend, taking on a U15 side in Baltimore that’s coming off two identical 3-0 wins, over the New England Revolution and Bethesda SC.
The challenge for the Impact will be to try not conceding. After falling 3-0 in their last two games, including last week against Philadelphia Union at Centre Nutrilait, defensive stability will be at the forefront for the Impact’s youngest group.
U17 suffers first loss
After going unbeaten through the first four games of the season, head coach Jason Di Tullio and his U17 side suffered their first loss of the season, although the effort was there, losing out to the Philadelphia Union 3-2 in the end.
Without surprise, it’s Mouhamadou Kane who scored both goals for his team, bringing his total to 10 on the season already. Although the youngster managed to tie the game in the 89th minute, a nice individual play by a Union forward handed the visitors the win.
Still, the U17 group remains first in its division and will want to bounce back against a side that still hasn’t lost this season, this Saturday.
U19 wins third straight
Things are rolling for Philippe Eullaffroy’s men. After a difficult start to the season, the U19 side has won three consecutive games, including a slim 1-0 win against the Philadelphia Union last Saturday. Without surprise, it was Mujtaba Mir Hasan who scored the winner, his ninth goal already after five games.
The team had to show character, finishing the game with 10 men after a sending off, especially against a tough opponent, but the group was able to hold on and grab the win. Now, the Impact’s oldest team in USSDA will look to make it four consecutive wins, against a Baltimore side that remains winless this season.
