MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact announced on Thursday that the club has acquired a 2016 second round MLS SuperDraft pick from expansion club New York City FC in exchange for defender Jeb Brovsky.

“We would like to thank Jeb for everything he’s done both on and off the field with the Impact,” said sporting director Nick De Santis. “This move provides him with an opportunity he was looking for while giving our team roster and budget flexibility moving forward. Jeb’s contributions to the club were appreciated and we wish him well.”

“It was a mutual decision that the club and I came to regarding my professional career,” said Jeb Brovsky. “I’m very excited to be part of NYCFC and I hope to see my career grow there. I will not forget the time my family and I spent in Montreal. I want to thank the club and the fans for their support.”

The team is now on a two week break in MLS regular season action as the 2014 FIFA World Cup kicks off Thursday. The bleu-blanc-noir will return to the pitch in Vancouver against the Whitecaps FC on Wednesday, June 25 at 10pm EDT.
