IMFC International watch

Vigie_Oct2017

For the last international window in this 2017 MLS regular season, six Bleu-blanc-noir players will represent their country around the world. We will follow their adventures under their national team colours.
Laurent Ciman, Belgium
UEFA Group H 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers
4-3 win against Bosnia-Herzegovina, in Sarajevo (Ciman was an unused sub)
4-0 win against Cyprus, in Brussels (Ciman played the full 90)
The Belgians finished their qualifying campaign with two nice wins and, most importantly, with two very good attacking performances. Ciman was rested at the weekend but started and played the whole game against Cyprus in Belgium.
Blerim Dzemaili, Switzerland
UEFA Group B 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers
5-2 win against Hungary in Basel (Dzemaili was an unused sub)
2-0 loss against Portugal in Lisbon (Dzemaili starts)
The loss in Lisbon means Switzerland will have to go through the play-off stage to earn their spot in Russia. Potential opponents are Sweden, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Italy, Denmark, Greece and Croatia. The draw will take place on Tuesday, October 17.
Louis Béland-Goyette, Anthony Jackson-Hamel, Samuel Piette, Canada
Friendly game
1-0 loss against El Salvador in Houston
The Canadian national team continues its revamp by selecting many young and promising players for this friendly game in the United States. Piette played the full 90 and Jackson-Hamel came on in the 52nd minute for Cyle Larin.
Shaun Francis, Jamaica
Friendly game
5-2 loss against Saudi Arabia in Riyadh
Despite an impressive run that got them all the way to the Gold Cup final last summer, the Reggae Boyz will not take part in the next World Cup, having been knocked out in the fourth qualifying round, at the same time as Canada. While they await the next international tournament qualifying stage, they have to keep moving. Francis played the full 90 in the Arabian Desert.
