Petrasso, Piette, Edwards and Taïder called up

No game this weekend for the Impact, even though a few MLS clubs will hit the pitch during this international window. In the meantime, the Bleu-blanc-noir continues to train at Centre Nutrilait, but it will take place without Canadians Michael Petrasso, Samuel Piette and Raheem Edwards, gone to Spain to face New Zealand, as well as Algerian Saphir Taïder, who will rake in some airline fidelity points to play against Tanzania, in Algiers, and Iran, in Austria. Don’t worry, though: all these players will be back in time for the trip to the West Coast and the game against the Seattle Sounders FC, on Saturday, March 31, at 10pm ET (TVA Sports, TSN Radio 690).

Canada started the adventure with new head coach John Herdman and new assistant coach Mauro Biello on the right foot, beating New Zealand 1-0. The three Impact players called up by the national team, Michael Petrasso, Samuel Piette and Raheem Edwards, all spent time on the pitch with the Reds in a game that will serve as a platform for the Canadians.
