American goalkeeper led the league with 132 saves
Evan Bush was excellent for the Montreal Impact over the course of the 34-game regular season, starting every game for the Bleu-blanc-noir and leading the league in saves. The Impact’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2018 set a few personal records along the way, including 10 clean sheets, good for third in the league.
Now, the American ‘keeper can also add finishing atop the Audi Player Index in his position to his list of accomplishments, with a score of 371. Throughout the season, the Ohio native proved that his positioning in front of goal is one of the league’s best, allowing him to make saves with more ease.
The Audi Player Index is a player performance rating system in soccer that uses a data-based model to record nearly every performance relevant action on the field. 88 different components, and up to 2,000 registered and evaluated player actions per match are live collected.
