If defender Eric Miller was walking around a little awestruck on the first day of preseason, don’t hold that against him.
The Impact’s 2014 first round SuperDraft pick (5th overall) took in his first pro experience. He got to play with some pretty experienced players and he immediately noticed a difference in the level of play from college to the pros.
“My first day was awesome. The guys were very friendly and I felt at home,” said the Creigthon University product. “The players are much more experienced and the way they use their bodies to shield the ball is so much better. It’s a different level for sure.”
But if he had to grade himself, Miller felt he did OK for his first day.
“It’s tough and fast, but I felt I did alright. I just want to work hard every day through preseason and see where that takes me.”
And when asked if something stood out from his first professional experience, his answer was short but to the point.
“Playing with Di Vaio was phenomenal. He’s so clever and crafty, it was awesome.”
