ORLANDO, Florida – CF Montréal kicks off its 13th MLS regular season on Saturday against Orlando City SC at 7:30pm EST at Inter&Co Stadium (MLS Season Pass, RDS, TSN, BPM Sports, TSN 690).

The Montrealers will begin their 2024 campaign under new head coach Laurent Courtois. Before arriving in Canada, Courtois led the Columbus Crew reserve team since January 28, 2022. In his first season in Columbus, he led Crew 2 to the regular-season title with a record of 16 wins, three losses and five draws (62GF-22GA), and then to the MLS Next Pro playoff championship. At the end of that same year, he was named MLS Next Pro Coach of the Year. In 2023, he helped Crew 2 reach the championship final for the second year running.

Based in Florida since February 4, the Bleu-blanc-noir played four preseason matches against Minnesota, Atlanta, Colorado and Tampa Bay (USL).

During the off-season, the Club exercised the options of Logan Ketterer, Róbert Thorkelsson, Ousman Jabang and Ariel Lassiter ahead of the 2024 season, while James Pantemis, Zachary Brault-Guillard, Ahmed Hamdi, Sean Rea, Jean-Aniel Assi, Jojea Kwizera and Romell Quioto departed.

Montreal also made the acquisitions of goalkeeper Sebastian Breza, defenders Joaquín Sosa, Ruan and Raheem Edwards, midfielder Dominic Iankov, and forwards Matías Cóccaro and Josef Martínez.

The Club has a 5-7-0 record in opening matches since 2012. At Inter&Co Stadium against Orlando, Montreal holds a 4-4-2 record and a neutral goal differential.

CF Montréal will play its second game of the 2024 MLS Season next Saturday, March 2, against FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium, with kickoff set at 8:30pm EST.
