CF Montréal opens 2023 season Saturday against Inter Miami

Montreal kicks off the 2023 season on the road

The moment has finally come. CF Montréal will be back in action for the very first time of the season, this Saturday at 7:30pm, to take on Inter Miami CF at DRV PNK Stadium.

Watch the game on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app, exceptionally for free this Saturday. The game will also be broadcast live on RDS and TSN, as well as BPM Sports.

It will be a first official game at the helm of the first team for new head coach Hernan Losada, who joined the side during the offseason.

"The preseason went very well, with a lot of friendlies and good results," said head coach Hernan Losada. “Even though results are not that important at this time of the year, it gives you confidence. We're going to play a lot of away games early on, but we're going to try to get as many points as possible by employing smart game plans, to start the season off on the right foot."

It’ll also be a chance for us all to see some of this year’s newcomers in action for the very first time, including defenders Aaron Herrera and George Campbell, midfielder Ilias Iliadis and forward Jules-Anthony Vilsaint, who all joined the Club during the offseason.

We may also have an opportunity to see Chinonso Offor in action, who joined the Club last year but was immediately sent out on loan.

“We’ve had a lot of time to prepare and we’re going into the season really fit,” said defender Kamal Miller. “We are very clear on what we want to do and the way we want to play. All of us, especially the older guys, know how hard it is to get results on the road in this league. We play five of our first six games on the road and we want something from each of those games. But we’ll take it one game at a time, knowing that every game is extremely important.”

CF Montréal will be back on the road next weekend to take on Austin FC on Saturday, March 4, at Q2 Stadium, with kick off set at 8:30pm EST. Montreal will then take on Nashville SC on Saturday, March 11, at 8:30pm EST, before returning home to take on the Philadelphia Union on Saturday, March 18, at 7:30pm. Tickets for our home opener available here.
