CF Montréal is back home to take on the Philadelphia Union

Tickets for our home opener still available, starting at $29

CF Montréal is back home to take on the Philadelphia Union in its 2023 home opener, this Saturday at 7:30pm at Olympic Stadium. This will be Montreal’s first ever game on a Saturday night at the Big O. Tickets are still available here, starting at $29. The game will also be broadcast on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, on BPM Sports and CJAD as well.

Head coach Hernan Losada’s men approach this game looking for their first win of the season, after falling to Inter Miami, Austin FC, and Nashville SC in a tightly contested game on the road.

"We want to win," said head coach Hernán Losada. “We play to win. We want to be competitive, and we were competitive in our first three games. We were there until the end. It's a process. We have a lot of new players and several young guys, and new coaches. It takes time, but I'm certain we'll get better over time, because there's a lot of talent."

Philadelphia boasts a record of two wins and one loss this season, which came to Inter Miami in their second game of the season. Head coach Jim Curtin’s men are also competing in this year’s edition of the Concacaf Champions League, having progressed through to the quarterfinals of the continental tournament thanks to a 4-0 win over two legs against El Salvador side Alianza F.C.

Centre-back Kamal Miller will be unavailable for this fixture, having suffered a discomfort in his calf during the game against Nashville.

“They’re a very good team. They have a good roster, and they play together, added Losada. They have the same line-up in the past three or four years, with just one or two changes. It’s the same solid foundation. They’re used to playing together and they have a very good coach. We know it’s going to be a tough team to beat.”

The Club will be back on the road following the international break to take on its Canadian rival, the Vancouver Whitecaps, on Saturday, April 1, at 10:30pm, followed by a road fixture against the New England Revolution on April 8 at 7:30pm.

CF Montréal will finally return to Montreal to open its season the following weekend on Saturday, April 15, at 7:30pm, against D.C. United. Don’t miss out on our first game of the season at Stade Saputo. Tickets for our Stade Saputo home opener are available here.
