Three away games you won’t want to miss
The arrival of the new year is symbolic for Major League Soccer. Just a few days after festivities ended, the official schedule for the 2019 season was released by MLS, giving every team an idea on what to expect once March comes around.

The IMFC Membership allows you to notably save up to 50% on the price of individual tickets, take advantage of discounts at the club’s boutique and at Stade Saputo’s food concession stands, while having access to exclusive events. It is possible to pay for your Membership in monthly, interest-free payments. Individual tickets and mini-season packages for other season games will be available in the coming weeks.

San Jose v Montreal Impact – Mar 2
The moment we’ve been impatiently waiting for since the final whistle at Gillette Stadium in 2018 will happen on March 2, in sunny California, where the Impact will open its season with a game against the San Jose Earthquakes. Yes, we will have to wait until 10pm EST because of the time difference with San Jose, but those who bleed Bleu-blanc-noir shouldn’t have any issues staying up late.
This game not only marks the beginning of the season, but also the start of a six-game road trip to kick off the year. A positive result can pave the way for what’s to come in the following weeks, and a good start to the season can go a long way for a team that will play most of its games at home to close out the year.
FC Cincinnati v Montreal Impact – May 11
FC Cincinnati will kick off its inaugural season in MLS in 2019, and the Montreal Impact will play them in their brand new stadium during Week 13. The Ohio team won’t be completely unfamiliar for the Bleu-blanc-noir; both sides will meet for a preseason game on January 30 at IMG Academy, in Florida, marking the Bleu-blanc-noir’s first preseason game in 2019.
With an average of 25,717 fans at each home game in their last USL season, a league record, and with the club on pace to surpass 20,000 season memberships, the Impact’s first visit to the new club should be electric.
LAFC v Montreal Impact – May 24
A game on Friday night? That’s right. A more compressed schedule but with the same number of games has forced the league to be a bit innovative with scheduling, leading to the introduction of more Friday games. The Bleu-blanc-noir will play two games on Fridays in 2019, one at home against the New England Revolution, and this one, just a week later, in the City of Angels against LAFC.
It will be the Impact’s first visit to the Banc of California Stadium after Bob Bradley’s team visited and won at Stade Saputo in 2018 in an exciting, albeit disappointing 5-3 clash which included Nacho Piatti’s first MLS hat trick. Let’s hope for more of the same when the Impact visits, but with the Impact coming out on top.
