Impact takes on New York Red Bulls Saturday, followed by Players Development Academy Sunday
The start of the USSDA season brings along the first two-game weekend for the Impact Academy. On Saturday, the Impact’s teams will travel to Whipanny, New Jersey, to take on the New York Red Bulls’ Academy teams at the Red Bulls Training Facility. The U15s will play at 10am, the U17s at noon, and the U19s at 2pm.
On Sunday, all three teams will be back in action, this time against the teams from Players Development Academy, at the PDA Soccer Complex in Somerset, New Jersey. The U15s will play at 10am, the U17s at noon, and the U19s at 2pm.

The Impact U15 and U17 are both coming off dominant wins, last Saturday at Centre Nutrilait, to open their USSDA campaigns. The U19 group, on its end, will be looking for its first win in 2019 after suffering a tight 2-1 loss to open its season.
This is the only head-to-head between both MLS academies this year, although the Impact’s U19 team will host the Red Bulls’ U19 side at Centre Nutrilait on October 19.
The last time these teams faced each other was historic for the Impact’s Academy, as all three teams managed wins against the New York representatives at Centre Nutrilait for the very first time.
About the New York Red Bulls
In addition to its MLS and USL teams, the Red Bulls academy consists of seven teams: U12, U13, U14, U15, U17, U19 and U23 (USL PDL).
Over the years, 16 players have signed a homegrown contract with the New York Red Bulls. Today, six of them are still playing with the MLS team: Tyler Adams, Brandon Allen, Sean Davis, Derrick Etienne, Connor Lade and Alex Muyl.
About Players Development Academy
The objective of the Players Development Academy is to provide a year-round soccer training program. The club has a boys’ team and a girls’ team in each of the age groups from the U11 to U19 categories. These teams compete in premier leagues throughout the northeast and mid-Atlantic states and participate in highly competitive tournaments nationwide.
