Another string to the tactical bow

Impact unbeaten in four games
Saturday night’s game was a glass-half-full or glass-half-empty kind of thing. Sure, the Bleu-blanc-noir conceded the equalizer in stoppage time on a corner – offered in dubious circumstances to the hosts – to bring one point in its luggage instead of three, but in another hot, crazy atmosphere, the Montrealers were able to come back from behind twice, after a goal by Perez García that should not have stood – the ball went behind the goal line before Kaká’s decisive cross – and Rivas’ lucky rebound.
“It's one of those things where at the start of the game, you'd probably say you'd be satisfied with a point,” said goalkeeper Evan Bush. “The way the game played out and the position we were in, it is frustrating.”
One of the positives to take away from this visit to the Floridian peninsula is without a doubt the chemistry currently creating a precipitation of goals in the attacking triumvirate formed by Nacho Piatti, Matteo Mancosu and Blerim Dzemaili. The Argentine keeps on rolling with nine goals and two assists in his last 10 games in all competitions; the Italian has a goal and an assist since returning from injury, last week in Kansas City; the Swiss midfielder, for his part, recorded two goals and two assists in three games.
“They have loads of quality,” complimented the American shot stopper. “They're competitors, and if you get them in space and time on the ball, they can hurt you. They were able to do that especially in the second half. They did their part [on Saturday night].”
Mention has to be made that following the recent international games, head coach Mauro Biello had to rotate the squad; for this reason, four changes were made to the starting eleven, which once again counted three central defenders.
“We're still working through it,” continued Bush. “We played it last week, but a lot of guys were gone. This week was our first time with most of those guys back. The first half was kind of ugly, then we made a little tactical switch in the second half, and it got better for sure. I think the system is a good thing to have in our arsenal.”
