Advanced stats: good performance but no reward

It’s still very early in the season, and even if the Impact did not rake in any points on the road, we can find comfort in the performance, in the determination and in the solidarity shown by the Bleu-blanc-noir up to this point. On Saturday, in Columbus, Rémi Garde’s team once again conceded twice in quick succession, but this time, the Montreal squad was able to come back and equalize, only to get unlucky and see the Crew SC win a penalty in stoppage time, on a somewhat benign action.

The players once again displayed their excellent fitness, taking a hold of the game after the break. If the possession stat is not all that impressive – the Impact only having a slight advantage in the second half –, it’s more in the collective intentions that we felt the visitors’ advantage at MAPFRE Stadium. Here are your weekly advanced stats.
