Loux11 looks back on his performances during eMLS League Series One
Our eSports player presented by BMO was in New York City last weekend for the first eSports tournament of the year, eMLS League Series One.
Loux11 finished with three wins and two losses during the group stage on Saturday, including a decisive win in the last game, which confirmed a second-place finish in group D and a qualification to the final phase of eMLS League Series One, which was held on Sunday, live on the MLS Twitch account.
During Sunday’s event, our eSports player faced off against Toronto FC’s GoalMachine in the first round, with a spot in the quarterfinal against Minnesota’s Lamps on the line.
GoalMachine was able to score to take a two-goal lead early in the game, but Loux11 was able to fight back and cut the deficit in half. Despite his best efforts in the second half, Toronto’s player was able to score the insurance goal, winning the game 4-1 at the end.
“It was a complicated match,” said Loux11. “I couldn’t develop my game. I almost managed to come back, but I unfortunately lacked that final touch. That’s how the game goes sometimes. You move on and you learn from it.”
Loux11 is still fifth in the season’s general standings, which will determine the participants in the eMLS Cup, which will be held in Austin this year during the SWSX. The first 11 players in the standings will access the tournament directly, while the twelfth and final spot will be earned during the Last Chance Qualifiers the day before.
“I’m confident for eMLS League Series 2,” said Alix. “My matches will be more complicated than the first tournament, so I can’t lose points cheaply like I have sometimes in the past.”
Alix will be back in action for eMLS League Series 2, which will be played on February 11 and 12, also in New York City.
“I will make sure to correct my mistakes and learn from them to try and do even better than this first tournament. If I can manage to adjust some small details I noticed during this tournament, everything should go well next week.”
