Alexis Sánchez

Chilean international forward Alexis Sánchez joined CF Montréal as a Designated Player on August 11, 2026. A two-time Copa América champion with Chile, Sánchez has enjoyed a distinguished career with clubs including FC Barcelona, Arsenal FC, Manchester United, Inter Milan, Olympique de Marseille, and Sevilla FC. He signed with the Club through the end of the 2027 MLS Sprint Season, with an option for CF Montréal to extend the agreement through the 2027-28 season.

One of the most accomplished players in Chilean football history, Sánchez spent last season in La Liga with Sevilla FC, recording four goals and two assists in 30 appearances across all competitions.

Sánchez became the first Chilean player in FC Barcelona history when he joined the club in 2011. That same year, he helped Barça win the Spanish Super Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup. He added a Copa del Rey title in 2012, followed by a La Liga championship and another Spanish Super Cup in 2013.

The forward joined Arsenal FC in 2014 and enjoyed a highly successful spell in North London. With the Gunners, Sánchez won the FA Cup in 2015 and 2017, along with three FA Community Shield titles (2014, 2015, 2017). He was also named to the Premier League Team of the Year for the 2014-15 season and was voted Arsenal Player of the Season in both 2014-15 and 2016-17.

During his time with Inter Milan, Sánchez captured two Serie A titles (2020-21, 2023-24), two Supercoppa Italiana trophies (2021-22, 2023-24), and a Coppa Italia title (2021-22). He also helped the club reach the UEFA Europa League Final in 2020.

A key member of Chile’s golden generation, Sánchez played a pivotal role in back-to-back Copa América triumphs in 2015 and 2016. He also helped Chile reach the final of the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup. Sánchez holds Chile’s all-time records for both international appearances (168) and goals scored (51).
