MONTREAL - Major League Soccer announced Friday the finalists for the MLS WORKS Community MVP Contest presented by Wells Fargo, and Judy Yankowski was named the Montreal Impact’s nominee.
Yankowski, a Montreal Police Officer, is organizing the 5th edition of the Montreal SPVM World Cup of Soccer tournament that will host some 1,200 children with the aim of creating relationships with children from disadvantaged communities who are at risk of joining gangs, dropping out of school or any other challenge that comes their way.
The Grand Prize winner, as voted by the fans, will be awarded a $10,000 donation for the charity of their choice and a trip to the 2014 AT&T MLS All-Star Game in Portland.
