MONTREAL – Montreal Impact forward Marco Di Vaio has been nominated for a 2014 ESPY Award, in the Best MLS player category. The award ceremony will take place on July 16, in Los Angeles, California.


Di Vaio has been nominated alongside midfielder Tim Cahill (New York Red Bulls), forward Robbie Keane (Los Angeles Galaxy) and forward Mike Magee (Chicago Fire).


The winner will be chosen by public vote at http://espn.go.com/espys/2014/. Voting ends on July 16.


Di Vaio, who is playing in his third season with the Montreal Impact, was a finalist for the MLS Player of the Year Award last season, was named to the MLS Best XI and was awarded the Giuseppe Saputo award as the team MVP after finishing the 2013 campaign as the league’s third leading scorer with 20 goals in 33 games.


The ESPYS is an annual event presented in collaboration with ESPN.
