Top 3 - Best IMFC goal celebrations in MLS

Andrés Romero goal celebration

This past weekend, we probably saw one of the most touching goal celebrations of all-time after the Impact scored its second goal in a 3-0 win over the Columbus Crew SC, and it definitely is tops on this list.
1 - Marco Donadel’s kiss
The Italian midfielder is not known for scoring many goals, but he couldn’t have asked for a better way to open his account in MLS than his howitzer from 30 yards out last weekend over Columbus. Although not the most graceful or exciting celebration of all-time, it was definitely one of the most touching as he ran to the sidelines and reached over the boards to kiss his daughter, who along with his wife, had just recently joined him in Montreal after months apart.

2 – Marco Di Vaio’s tribute to Karl W. Ouimette
In a show of support for his teammate Karl W. Ouimette following the loss of his sister, Marco Di Vaio made the Impact’s first ever Academy signing the focus of his celebration with a hug in the first game following her passing - a 1-0 win over the LA Galaxy at home.

3 – Romero’s baby
Scoring the winning goal, his first of the season, in a 2-0 win over the Fire at home in 2013, the Argentine beat goalkeeper Sean Johnson with a powerful shot to the top right corner. In celebration of his strike, which was nominated for MLS Goal of the Week, he placed the ball under his jersey in honour of his expectant wife…of twins!
