The New England Revolution, who is currently second in the Eastern Conference, heads to Montreal to take on the Impact this weekend. Anytime a team from Montreal takes on its Bostonian counterparts, things should get interesting.
- Saturday’s home game will be the second to last chance for Montreal fans to see the legendary Marco Di Vaio lace up his boots after he announced a couple of weeks ago that he would be retiring at season’s end.
- A couple of significant milestones for the club this weekend as well. The Revs game will mark the team’s 100th game in MLS and 50th regular season home game since joining the league in 2012.
- Lee Nguyen for MVP? -> One of MLS’s potential MVP nominees for 2014 will be in town. Nguyen wrote his name in the Revolution record books last Saturday night, scoring his 14th goal of the season to set a new club record for goals by a midfielder and give the Revs a 1-0 lead. He is the top goal-scoring midfielder in MLS this season, and one of the main reasons his side is second in the Eastern Conference.
