SC TORONTO 4 IMPACT U21 0

SC Toronto midfielder Carlos Nogueira opened the scoring at the 5th minute. Nogueira beat Impact goalkeeper Dominic Provost with a low shot to his left.

Forward Alexandros Halis (61st minute) and midfielder Jarek Whiteman (78th & 88th minute) also scored for SC Toronto during the second half.

Impact U21 head coach Philippe Eullaffroy was serving a one-game suspension, after being ejected during the last game on July 23.

“Today’s game was disappointing,” said Impact U21 assistant coach Olivier Brett. “We committed many youthful mistakes, that we are not used to see, that led to opposing goals. This result is a rude awakening, and reminds us that our team is in constant training and that we still have a lot to achieve. We were facing a good team today, which played well with the ball, but we made it too easy for them. We were offensively predictable, and unable to score on the opportunities we created.”

“Beyond the lost, we simply have the confirmation that without the right high level attitude, we can't succeed,” added Philippe Eullaffroy. “Some players absolutely need to realize the importance that this kind of event can have to get the chance to get higher.”

The Academy will play its next seven matches on the road.

The team will then play its next home game against the St. Catharines Roma Wolves on Sunday, September 18, at 1pm at Marie-Victorin Sports Complex.
