Registrations for the sport-études program detections

MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact Academy announced on Monday that the registrations for the sport-études program detections – U14 to U17, players born from 2002 to 2006 – will be open from Friday, September 22. The detections take place over four stages, from January 5 to January 20. The registration fee is $70 plus tax.

After each round, a selection of the best players is done for the next round.


The first round of the detections will be from January 5 to 7, 2018, at Complexe sportif Marie-Victorin. The best players will qualify for the second round which will happen on January 13, 2018. The third round will follow, on January 20, 2018.


The fourth and last round will consist in the academic validation and the meeting with parents. Our partner schools make sure that our players meet the academic requirements to join the sport-études program:


  • Minimum overall average of 75%
  • Minimum of 65% in Mathematics
  • Minimum of 65% in French


The Impact has partnerships with five Montreal high schools:


  • École secondaire Édouard-Montpetit (French): open house on October 1, from 1pm to 4pm
  • École secondaire Antoine-de-Saint-Exupéry (French): open house on October 5, from 6:30pm to 7:30pm
  • Collège de Montréal (French, private): open house on September 22, from 4pm to 7pm and September 24, from 1:30pm to 4pm
  • Lester B. Pearson High School (English): open house on October 5, from 6:30pm to 9pm
  • John Rennie High School (English): open house on October 5, from 6pm to 9pm


This year, six players from the Academy are part of the first team roster, playing in MLS.
