MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact Academy announced on Wednesday that the registration period to sign up for tryouts for its sport-études program – U14 to U17, players born from 2003 to 2007 – has now begun. The tryouts will take place over four stages, from January 5 to January 19, 2019. The registration fee is $75 plus tax.
To register, fill the form by clicking here.
After each round, a selection of the best players qualifies for the next round.
The first round of tryouts will be on January 5 or 6, 2019, at Complexe sportif Marie-Victorin. The best players will qualify for the second round, which will take place on January 12, 2019. The third round will take place on January 19, 2019.
The fourth and last round will consist of academic validation and meeting with parents. Our partner schools make sure that our players meet the academic requirements to join the sport-études program:
- Minimum overall average of 75%
- Minimum of 65% in Mathematics
- Minimum of 65% in French
If the player is selected to join the Academy, he will have to register with one of our partner schools:
- École secondaire Édouard-Montpetit (French): Open house on September 30
- École secondaire Antoine-de-Saint-Exupéry (French): Information evening on October 4
- Collège de Montréal (French, private): Open house on September 21 and 23
- Lester B. Pearson High School (English)
This year, eight homegrown players developed at the Academy are now with the first team.
